Shortly after graduating college in 2009 I was eager to get into the real world and achieve my dreams. Let’s just say life had other plans, we often dealt hands that we may not like but must learn to play. Something in me was burning with no real answers my journey began.
It wasn’t until 2011 that I realized that the degree I obtained was merely a stepping-stone. Having passion and no purpose will often lead to a quick burnout. The one thing I have learned is that in order to be effective you must be efficient. Purpose and Passion go hand-in-hand and you cannot achieve anything in life without both driving forces.
It was the summer of 2011 that I realized that everything I wanted to do and accomplish in life started with having a plan. Without a blueprint, there could be no work done. Over the years I would write down ideas, thoughts, and things I would need. The more I study the Plan the more I realized that it would take hard work and sacrifice to accomplish my goals.
Everything started to happen in 2013 shortly after my mom passed away. Sometimes in life, it takes losing something valuable to open your eyes. Fear had left my mind and I was ready to conquer anything that stood in my way. No matter what I faced I was determined to overcome the adversity and accomplish what I set out to do.
It is now 2018 and I am grateful for the process that I went through. The decisions I made in my life didn’t change my destiny it only delayed the process. Delays are frustrating and nerve-wracking because we want things to happen right away. The funny thing about the delay is, during the process, we are being groomed to fit into the life that is ahead. Too many times we want to skip the process and become what God has called us to be not realizing that the delay is for our benefit.
Without delay, there can be no mistakes, lessons, experiences, victories, failures or even losses. It never makes sense when we are going through the storms of life. The promises over your life are final. Every delay, setback, and hardship is in your favor. Don’t let the circumstances that you face today keep you from believing the promises that are for tomorrow.
